Pantones Denver Presents Star Creature 7” Release Party at El Piñon – March 28

DENVER, CO – On Saturday, March 28th from 2–5 PM, Pantones Denver brings modern funk heat to the patio at El Piñon (550 E Colfax Ave) for a special Star Creature 7” release party celebrating KUATO’s latest release, “DJ’s Delight / She’s A Go Getter.”

The free daytime event will spotlight all-vinyl sets by Neon Brown (one-half of KUATO and creator of Pantones) alongside Tim Zawada, founder of Star Creature. Both will be spinning deep cuts and modern funk favorites.

Adding to the celebration, Tim Tucker, Star Creature recording artist and featured vocalist on KUATO’s new 7”, will be in attendance, selling his music and connecting with fans. The KUATO duo will also be on-site to celebrate the release.

Attendees can expect:

• All-vinyl DJ sets from Neon Brown & Tim Zawada

• A Star Creature Records pop-up shop

• Record giveaways

• Appearances by KUATO and Tim Tucker

• Some of the best modern funk to date

This is a free event and open to the public. Music lovers, vinyl collectors, and funk aficionados alike are invited to come let loose on the patio and celebrate the latest from KUATO and Star Creature Records.

I wanted to let you know that Pantones Denver is happening this Saturday at El Piñon (5500 E. Colfax Ave) from 8–11 PM. We’re psyched to be partnering with El Piñon, they’ve got a terrific spot, and the staff and ownership are top-notch!

This is a free event, but the space is intimate, so come early if you’d like to make sure you get in.

What up Party People!

I’m writing to inform you that Pantones Denver is back just in time to get some great summer parties going. We will be starting it off with a free rooftop party at Hey Kiddo (4337 Tennyson Street) from 5 pm - 8 pm.

Hey Kiddo is a terrific establishment with talented folks behind the bar and in the kitchen. They have delicious food and beautifully crafted cocktails. Plus a great wine list.

Saturday will be all vinyl, boogie, funk, disco, house, and electro. You know the deal!

In the sixth installment out of twelve projects for the year, I collaborated with the homie Daniel David, formally known as Trailer Limon. Dan has come out with magnificent pieces of music over the last decade. Whether it be songs with his partner Eric Boss in The Pendletons, producing for Zackey Force Funk, or collaborating with folks like Potato Head People, Dan has a knack for finding just the right melody and groove. A true Funkster. Very psyched to be working with him again.

The song “The Connection” focuses on the strong connection of love between people. The video focuses on the connection between love and art (music, 2d art, and dance) and how powerful that love can be. But interpret it how you’d like.

Boog Harris, the dancer in the video is phenomenal. I met him at one of my DJ gigs last year. The way this man moves is quite unique and I am honored that he would be in the video. We filmed the dance scenes at the B Boy Factory here in Denver. Big thank you to Alexandria Marcus and Ian Flaws for allowing us to use their beautiful space. If you're looking to learn dance here in Denver, that’s the spot!.

As well, we had some friends and fam come through and play characters in the vid. Big thank you to Ryan, Brenda, Ben, Mom, and Etta. Love ya’ll!

The video was directed by the very talented Chelsea Chorpenning and myself. I animated over some scenes as well, which is a new thing for me. It was cool to learn and I hope to do more.
